- The American division of IT service provider and reseller Logicalis acquired Albuquerque-based Loial, expanding its New Mexico presence and its cybersecurity team, the companies announced Monday. Loial Founder and President Aaron Jaramillo will lead the company’s New Mexico region.
- Datatec, Logicalis' Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed parent, announced the purchase of 100% of Loial's share capital voluntarily, saying it fell below the thresholds for categorization under JSE listing rules and didn't need shareholder approval. Loial was Aquila’s networking division before being spun off in 2025.
- “The company brings certified talent, established customer relationships, and proven delivery experience that complement Logicalis’ existing scale, resources, and national reach,” Logicalis U.S. CFO Andrea Marin said in an email statement to Channel Dive.

Loial and Logicalis are similar in their technology approach and vendor alignment but not in their go-to-market strategies.
Marin said Loial is strong in cybersecurity, an area Logicalis has been investing in for years. One of Loial’s largest vendor partners is Cisco-acquired security and observability platform company Splunk, with which Logicalis holds Premier Partner status.
Loial wasn’t a one-trick pony in cybersecurity, counting Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Tanium, Arctic Wolf, Check Point, Proofpoint, Zscaler, Aruba, Darktrace, and Cisco among its strategic partners, according to Marin. It was also capable of consulting clients in infrastructure and networking.
“These capabilities complement Logicalis’ existing partner portfolio and create additional opportunities to expand security, networking, and cloud-related solutions across both customer bases,” Marin said.
The companies typically deal with very different customer segments. Marin said Logicalis works across “the full enterprise spectrum” with a variety of private and public sector customers. Loial, on the other hand, derives about 70% of revenue from state, local and education customers and the rest from commercial mid-market organizations, per Marin. The U.S. Small Business Administration in 2020 found that 99% of New Mexico businesses employ fewer than 500 people.

"Joining Logicalis opens up a broader portfolio of technology and cybersecurity services, deeper technical expertise, global resources and the scale to help customers solve increasingly complex business challenges.”
