Dive Brief:
- White label voice provider Viirtue launched an MCP server to let customers and resellers manage communications systems through their own LLMs, the company told partners during a webinar Wednesday.
- Businesses can administer and troubleshoot phone, voice and contact center systems with Viirtue MCP, generating reports and wallboards using their chatbot of choice.
- “All of these brands are trying to get people to work out of their portals and their systems, but we know where the world is moving,” Viirtue Cofounder and CEO Dan Rosenrauch told Channel Dive. “Everybody wants to work out of the AI they're already using.”
Dive Insight:
Rosenrauch said Viirtue is three to four months ahead of the communications industry as MCPs proliferate. The PulseMCP registry has 21,710 servers as of Wednesday, up 243% from one year prior.
AI Notetakers such as Fireflies and Otter have become ubiquitous on video calls, feeding meeting transcripts into LLMs. Rosenrauch said Viirtue could provide a much wider range of data through APIs from its products.
He said boardrooms will expect to pull customer call data from an LLM.
“In a year from now, this won't be innovative,” Rosenruach said. “This will just be a table stakes thing that everybody has to do, or you'll just get disqualified.”
Viirtue has been running internal testing on the product for nearly three months, with two dozen partners participating in the beta trial. The vendor will manage the MCP Admin Portal for two months before giving partners access.
The MCP connection provides full access to Viirtue’s API, with a redaction server scrubbing out personal information before it enters the MCP to maintain compliance.
A live poll of partners during the webinar found that 54% will use Viirtue MCP first for troubleshooting, followed by analyzing missed or abandoned calls and call queues.
“This is where our partners can stay ahead of the curve and say, 'Yes, we can deliver that to you. You don't have to come use our system; we can meet you where you are,’” he said.
