Dive Brief:
- Governance, risk and compliance platform provider Optro expanded its partner program to include tracks for independent software vendors and large-scale aggregators, the company said last week.
- Optro will also co-invest in partner-led marketing, enablement and practice-building, per the announcement. Eligible partners can submit funding proposals.
- The company signed a distribution deal with government IT service provider Carahsoft in September and has since partnered with TD Synnex. “When we launched our partner program, we were trying to serve our advisory partners and then technology resellers,” Vik Reddy, senior director of strategy and operations, global alliances, told Channel Dive. “Since then, we've added the largest global distributor as a partner, so that necessitated a track to serve the way they do business.”
Dive Insight:
The Optro platform is used by Cisco, Workday, Navan and other large tech companies for unified visibility into audit, risk, security and compliance. The company, previously known as AuditBoard, was founded in 2014 and acquired by private equity firm Hg in 2024.
AuditBoard has expanded its AI capabilities through acquisitions, including the 2025 buyout of AI governance software company FairNow. Earlier this year, after rebranding as Optro, the company acquired compliance automation firm Midship.
The partner program — Optro Partner Connect — launched in July.
“We view partners as a critical lever to bring Optro to these buyers,” Reddy said. “And then it's not just that; it's the building that is part of a larger strategy our partners are deploying with these customers. It could be a digital transformation project. It could be a complete revamp of a cybersecurity posture. And so that's why partners are a critical part of our journey.”
Initially, the program had advisory and solutions provider tracks with deal registration and reseller discounts. The program also included a portal and tiers for entry-level and elite partners.
Optro added API tools, sandbox access and dedicated support to co-develop integrated workflows with Optro, this month. Distributors can add Optro’s compliance, risk and governance software to their catalogs using their existing billing infrastructure.
"As enterprises and public sector organizations across North America navigate increasingly complex compliance demands, having seamless procurement and trusted aggregation is vital,” Mike Allers, VP of cybersecurity business development at TD Synnex, said in the press release. “Expanding our partnership with Optro through the new Distributor track allows TD Synnex to leverage our vast B2B network of VARs, system integrators and service providers to scale Optro’s GRC Intelligence Platform.”
To deepen partner relationships, Optro will also launch the annual Optro Partner Connect Awards next year, Reddy said.
