Dive Brief:
- Managed services provider Netrio rolled out eight distinct as-a-service cybersecurity offerings for midmarket enterprises, the company said in an announcement last week. The MSP aims to help midsize businesses address the full spectrum of cybersecurity needs as demand rises for MSP-led security services.
- The cybersecurity service portfolio includes a security operations center that provides constant monitoring, alert triage and remediation support. The company also offers threat and vulnerability management, endpoint protection, identity and access management, third-party risk management, penetration testing, compliance and cybersecurity consulting.
- “We’re seeing midmarket companies face growing pressure to improve security while also dealing with a shortage of skilled cybersecurity staff, tight budgets, expanding regulatory obligations, increased security demands from customers, and increasingly complex environments,” Kevin Charest, CISO and vice president of cybersecurity services at Netrio, told Channel Dive in an email. “Historically, they’ve been underserved because they lack the resources to build the dedicated teams and integrated capabilities common at large enterprises. As an MSP, we can help close that gap.”
Dive Insight:
Netrio wants to give organizations with tight budgets an a la carte menu of cybersecurity services.
“We broke it into distinct as-a-service offerings so customers can customize and address the risks and regulatory requirements that are a priority to them, rather than pay for a one-size-fits-all bundle where some services never get used,” Charest said. “The services can also work together through our integrated IT and security approach, helping turn findings into prioritized actions and measurable outcomes.”
Charest said Netrio wants to provide measurable outcomes for customers, not just scan and report cybersecurity issues.
Using AI agents, the company scans for vulnerabilities, grouping findings to provide context regarding affected assets, urgency, existing safeguards and potential patches, Charest said. Businesses working with Netrio can expect a plan to prioritize actions and strategies to reduce cybersecurity risk and improve resilience, per Charest.
AI is changing the cybersecurity game for MSPs and opening up business opportunities within the midmarket.
“AI helps MSPs like us turn large volumes of security and configuration data into more useful context, such as which vulnerabilities affect critical assets, what controls are already in place and where attention is most urgent,” Charest said. “We use AI to support our analysts. It organizes information and suggests recommendations, and our people validate those insights and decide what action to take. That makes security work more actionable for customers who may not have a large in-house team.”
Charest expects midmarket organizations to continue seeking security services despite talent and budget constraints, as regulatory demands and complex security environments put pressure on enterprise IT teams.
"The mid-market has long been underserved by cybersecurity vendors, often left to deploy enterprise security tooling that organizations of this size struggle to fully realize value from," Andrew Braunberg, principal analyst at Omdia, a Channel Dive sister company, said in the press release. "A shift is underway toward services measured by actual improvement in security posture. Portfolios that span monitoring through compliance under a single provider are well positioned as that expectation becomes more mainstream."
Netrio is preparing for this shift by building out its integrated portfolio of cybersecurity services, with an emphasis on 24/7 operations, risk and compliance guidance, and measurable outcomes for customers, Charest said.
