Dive Insight:
The consulting firm founded by former Verizon channel head Janet Schijns added a former TSD executive at a time when its relationships with TSDs are expanding.
JSG teamed with TSD-affiliated trade association Technology Sales Channel Professionals earlier this year to produce a financial analysis of the advisor/agency sales model. Constantine said Schijns and JSG’s research has shown the value of the TSD model to the largest telecom carriers.
“They've sort of suspected it, but now they see the numbers, and now they see the facts around it, and it's up to all of us, to help them to take advantage of that dynamic,” Constantine told Channel Dive.
Since 2020, Constantine helmed the supplier services division of Intelisys, a TSD ScanSource acquired four years prior. He’ll now work with companies he previously counted as competitors, although Constantine said cross-industry collaboration was always part of his job.
“We always took the approach that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, and we were always big advocates for the channel, for distribution, for the TSD model and for our partners,” Constantine said.
After ScanSource, Constantine intended to take time off but was recruited by JSG. Schijns said Constantine had already been functioning as a consultant for the partners in ScanSource’s community.
“It wasn't just around Intelisys or ScanSource being their distributor,” Schijns said. “It was, ‘I'm really struggling. Should I hire this person? Should we expand? Should we change our program? What should our compensation look like?’ They always went to Paul for that.”
ScanSource was making just south of $300 million in net sales when Constantine joined to lead merchandising for its point-of-sale and barcode division in 1999. He served in a variety of roles over the years, including president of EMEA. The company surpassed $3 billion in net sales for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025.
Casey Huffling, a 20-year veteran at ScanSource and previously SVP of North American POS and barcode, fills Constantine’s role. Intelisys added a new president in Ken Mills in 2024.
