Dive Brief:
- Cybersecurity software provider CyberFOX signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, according to an announcement last week. Ingram Micro partners can now offer CyberFOX’s privileged access management, password manager and AI-powered DNS filtering products to their customers through the Ingram Micro Xvantage platform.
- CyberFOX, which targets managed service providers, gains access to Ingram Micro’s extensive ecosystem of value-added resellers, who serve small and medium-sized businesses, mid-market, and enterprise customers across North America.
- “Almost any of the large software companies that mature in the channel, they require both MSP and enterprise to really grow,” Os Haque, VP of global channels at CyberFOX, told Channel Dive. “As we try to hit our next milestone of growth, it's going to be important for us to build into that mid-market. Ingram is a great part of that strategy because of their reseller, MSP and MSSP ecosystem.”
Dive Insight:
CyberFOX was founded in 2022 by former ConnectWise executives David Bellini and Adam Slutskin, who aimed to create cybersecurity tools specifically for managed service providers, according to Haque.
The founders acquired Password Boss, a password management software provider, and Auto Elevate, a privileged access management tool — two services that are now the bread and butter of CyberFOX’s cybersecurity portfolio.
Through its partnership with Ingram, CyberFOX seeks to address a gap in the cybersecurity market between high-end enterprise resellers, designed for large-scale organizations, and resellers and MSPs that support SMBs, Haque said.
“You almost have two spectrums of technology, and they're two different companies,” he said. “You don't have anybody in the enterprise really providing solutions that are simple enough to implement downstream. And then there's not many companies that are downstream that provide the mom-and-pop shops with technology that's scalable.”
CyberFOX plans to tap into Ingram Micro’s ecosystem of more than 165,000 channel partners and resellers.
“We want to leverage that ecosystem of value-added resellers,” Haque said. “We're not looking at all [of them] — that goes back to our personal philosophy on the channel. It needs to be small, yet nimble. We want a select few partners that really want to do business with us, and we'll double down on them.”
