Dive Brief:
- Managed service platform provider Flamingo raised $4.5 million in its first seed funding round, bringing its total funding to $6.7 million after a $2.2 million pre-seed in October 2025, the company said in an announcement on Wednesday. Vertex Ventures, a venture capital firm that backs early-stage tech startups, led the investment.
- Flamingo aims to consolidate and automate IT services, offering managed service providers per-device rates for an IT infrastructure stack on its AI-driven platform OpenFrame. This round of funding will allow Flamingo to convert 400 MSPs on beta and a 2,500-person pipeline into paying customers, according to the company.
- “This is not a tool that will be added into MSP’s toolset as another dashboard that they need to click into,” Michael Assraf, CEO and Founder of Flamingo, told Channel Dive. “We want to build a tool, a platform that will change the way MSPs operate their business. If until now they needed one tool to open tickets, one tool to remote connect, one tool to do risk management, that will be different now. We want to have tickets that are getting answered directly with AI, and the MSP is overlooking this process, but is not part of this process.”
Dive Insight:
Flamingo’s product, OpenFrame, will house 19 integrated IT and security tools on one platform, with modules spanning remote monitoring, device management, patch management, ticketing and security management. The platform also has two AI agents: Fae, which handles end-user requests like password resets, and Mingo, which works at the technician level on backups, software requests and incident response.
The company’s target is partners that handle IT operations for small and medium-sized businesses.
Assraf founded Flamingo in early 2025 to build IT that runs itself, he said. While working with MSPs during his tenure as founder of cybersecurity firm Vicarius, he encountered the tool sprawl, margin challenges and labor intensity common in the channel.
“I saw some newer, younger MSPs, instead of buying off-the-shelf commercial software, were finding equivalent open-source tools that serve their users the same as commercial tools,” Assraf said. “Then for that specific product of their toolset, they can increase their profit margins almost to 100 percent — they just need to self-host the open source tool. That gave me the idea to build an entire IT security stack that is purely based on open-source existing tooling or tooling that I build.”
Currently, Flamingo is in stage one of OpenFrame’s three-generation rollout, with Gen One currently offering 8 out of 19 modules. With the secured funding, the company can move to Gen Two and Gen Three, Assraf said, launching complete coverage of IT security operations tools.
The platform will be priced at $1 per device per month with 10 million AI tokens included, or $0.80 with 25 million tokens on annual billing.
Flamingo’s ultimate goal is completely autonomous IT services that use AI to solve problems. MSPs would receive push notifications only for guardrail approvals, Assraf said.
“Imagine an IT ops that is feeding itself and running on its own, not opening tickets, not bothering MSP owners or technicians with day-to-day mundane problems,” he said. “Even if some big anomaly is discovered, it's handled completely autonomously, and the user just needs to be aware of it and approve it.”
Looking to the future, Assraf said MSPs will transition to fewer hands-on operations and services.
“Flamingo or other companies are just going to provide them almost an MSP in a box, helping MSP owners to focus on consulting and transitioning their existing clientele into the AI era,” he said. “It's kind of like moving from IT service providers to AI service providers.
